The SOCODEMS meet monthly and have periodic social events, community outreach events and gather to work on campaigns. Please join us at any meeting - membership is not required to attend your first meeting of the Club - give us a try! Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at Pirate's Cove Restaurant in Galesville, MD, except as noted during the summer. Join us! January 13, 2018 - MLK National Day of Service, 1:00 pm. Please bring canned goods for SCAN to St. James Church, Solomons Island Road in Lothian. Candidates will attend.
January 15, 2018 - Martin Luther King Jr Parade, 12:00 noon, Annapolis. Join Democratic candidates during the parade.
January 20, 2018 - January 20, 2018, Saturday, Anniversary of the Women’s March, Rally and March on the Polls, 11:00 am. Rally at Lawyers Mall, with Gavin Buckley and activist speakers. 12:00 noon. March from Lawyers Mall to the far end of City Dock with more speakers. After a lunch break, 2:00 pm, attend the Conference for Change, location TBD. February 8, 2018 - Anne Arundel County General Development Plan Listening Tour, 6:00 pm, Southern High School, Harwood. Note: You may speak for two minutes IF you sign up to do so before the meeting starts.
April 4, 2018 - Meeting at Pirates Cove in Galesville. Optional dinner at your expense at 6pm, meeting at 7pm. Our guest speaker will be Jim Shea, candidate for governor.
Note: We will continue to collect donations for SCAN and the requested items for this month are peanut butter, jelly and hearty soups. Please bring these to our meeting. Checks are also helpful.
We will also collect dues at our meetings - $35 per person in 2018.
